Pilgrim’s Pride this week broke ground on a new prepared foods facility in Walker County, Georgia. The company is investing $400 million in the 300,000-square-foot facility in northwest Georgia, which is expected to create approximately 630 new jobs upon completion.
The facility will produce a variety of fully cooked chicken products under the Pilgrim’s, Gold Kist, and Just Bare brands, serving both retail and foodservice customers.
Pilgrim notes that it currently employs approximately 7,500 Georgians across seven food production facilities, as well as ancillary assets such as feed mills and hatcheries.
