According to the USDA Foreign Agricultural Service, U.S. total broiler exports in January-October 2025 were down in volume due in large to decreased shipments to China, Vietnam, Mexico, Iraq, and Hong Kong, but broiler shipments to other export markets such as Taiwan, Philippines, Canada, Congo (Kinshasa), Haiti, Turkmenistan, Ghana, South Korea, Timor-Leste, Benin, Dominican Republic, Libya, and Chile registered tremendous gains over the same period a year earlier.
Broiler exports were 2,585,961 metric tons, down 4.1 percent from the same period a year earlier, while export value was $3.883 billion, up 0.7% percent (Figure 1). Of the total shipment, 55.4 percent or 1,433,655 tons were shipped to the top six markets, including Mexico, Taiwan, Cuba, Philippines, Canada, and Guatemala.
Shipments to Mexico were 580,429 metric tons, down 5.0 percent from the same period of 2024. During the same period, Brazilian chicken exports to Mexico hit 222,639 metric tons, up 30.4 percent year over year, while Chilean chicken exports to Mexico reached 20,569 metric tons, up 4.7 percent.
Exports to China decreased by 39.1 percent to 142,690 tons (of which 43.6 percent or 34,134 metric tons were frozen raw chicken paws), while shipments to Taiwan increased by 35.2 percent to 216,630 tons. Exports to other important markets were Cuba, 189,627 tons, down 9.8 percent; Philippines, 184,703, up 31.0 percent; Canada, 150,728 tons, up 15.1 percent; Guatemala, 111,538 tons, down 1.2 percent; Angola, 81,485 tons, down 19.0 percent; Vietnam, 73,740 tons, down 31.4 percent; Haiti, 62,649 tons, up 27.4 percent.
Cumulative turkey exports for January through October 2025 were 155,960 metric tons, down 15.6 percent from the same period a year earlier, while export value reached $636.0 million, up 14.6 percent. Of the total quantity exported, 87.9 percent or 137,015 metric tons were shipped to the top six markets, including Mexico, Canada, Guatemala, Panama, Benin, and Dominican Republic, with Mexico alone accounting for 79.6 percent or 124,147 metric tons.
Total egg exports (table eggs plus egg products in shell egg equivalent) for the first ten months of 2025 decreased by 25.3 percent to 111.9 million dozen. The value of those exports increased by 30.6 percent to $335.3 million .
